United States Attorney Jan Sharp announced that Shannon Rojas, 42, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, was sentenced today in federal court in Lincoln, Nebraska, for distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. Senior United States District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon sentenced Rojas to 70 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After her release from prison, she will begin a 4-year term of supervised release.
From October 2020 through November 2020, the WING Task Force utilized a confidential informant (CI), who purchased a total of five ounces from Rojas in Scottsbluff. The buys took place on October 26, 2020: CI purchased 58 grams for $1,200; October 27, 2020: CI purchased 28 grams for $1,000; and November 5, 2020: CI purchased 57 grams for $1,200.
This case was investigated by the WING (Western Nebraska Intelligence Narcotics Group), which is made up of the Nebraska State Patrol, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, Scottsbluff Police Department, and the Sidney Police Department. Kearney Police Department was also involved in this investigation as was the CNDSSTF (Central Nebraska Drug and Safe Streets Task Force). CNDSSTF consists of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Grand Island Police Department, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
