Johnathon Adolf Nuss was born November 20, 1929 in Sutton, Nebraska to Adolf and Olga (Gries) Nuss. The family moved and worked at farms throughout the area. When he was able, he enlisted in the Army. After his service he returned to Scottsbluff and began his autobody career working for his older brother and at Kizzier Chevrolet.

On October 21, 1956, he was united in marriage to Roma Baltes in Scottsbluff; two boys, Steven in 1959 and Harvey in 1960 joined the family.

He continued to work for Kizziers until he opened Panhandle Autobody in 1985 with his business partners Albert Sanchez and Sal Hurta. He retired in 2000 after 47 years in the field.

He enjoyed making wooden boxes, peg games and other trinkets. John liked polka and country western music, coffee with friends at the Log Cabin and taking Sunday drives. He was active in his church and served as head usher for 12 years.

John’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the special caregivers: Judy, Callie, Jessica, Rosa, Kathy and Jane, along with the staff at the Residency for their special care.

He is survived by his sons, Steven and Harvey of Gering; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Roma in 2015 and siblings, Wilber, Rudy, Chuck, Ben, Wanita, and Delores.
