On September 11, 2026, at approximately 9:54 p.m., a Scottsbluff police officer heard a collision near West 27th Street and Avenue B and observed a 13-year-old male and a motorized mini bike lying in the westbound lanes. The officer immediately requested emergency assistance.
According to a witness, the juvenile was traveling eastbound on the sidewalk when a white Dodge Durango, driven by Kira Poor Bear, exited the FTC parking lot without stopping, and the two collided.
The juvenile reported severe left leg pain and was transported to Regional West Medical Center for treatment of a suspected broken left leg.
Poor Bear was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way when exiting a driveway. The juvenile was cited for violating the city’s mini bike ordinance.
The Scottsbluff Police Department thanks the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Department, Scottsbluff Fire Department, and Regional West Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for their assistance during this investigation.
