At the high school, they are celebrating Hope Squad this week.

Hope Squad is a peer to peer program that empowers squads of students mentored by advisors to take action to improve the school's environment.

Squad members are trained to watch for at-risk students, identify suicide warning signs, seek help from adults and provide friendship. Hope Squad seeks to reduce self-destructive behavior and youth suicide through training, building, and creating change in our school and community.

This week students can participate in Hope Squad week by wearing each day's themed clothing or by donating to mason jars in the office. These mason jars have pictures of staff who are willing to be "pied in the face" for the benefit of Hope Squad.

The pieing will occur this Friday, March 24 with the top earners getting pied.

Our School Resource Officer (SRO), Officer Tyler Sherlock is putting his face on the line to be pied. If you would like to see his face splattered in whip cream "LIVE", bring your donation to the Alliance Police Department dispatch or the Alliance High School office.

P.S. Officer Sherlock will broadcast live on our PD Facebook this Friday if he is one of the lucky few!
