LINCOLN, Neb. – The HALT Human Trafficking Fund opened its next round of grant applications April 11. Applications are due by May 3.
The HALT Fund provides financial support to Nebraska-based organizations focused on preventing human trafficking before it occurs.
Eligible applicants include:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
- School systems
- Municipalities
- Law enforcement agencies
- Local or state government entities
Projects must fall into the following focus area:
- Education – such as public awareness campaigns, specialized training, or school-based programming
All funded projects must demonstrate a clear prevention focus.

About the HALT Fund
Established in 2024 by Nebraska’s banking industry with support from other stakeholders, the HALT Human Trafficking Fund collects and distributes funding to help eliminate human trafficking across the state.
During the last grant cycle in 2025, the Fund awarded grants to the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, Sandhills Crisis Intervention Program and the Set Me Free Project. Learn more about these grants here.
