Alliance woman who allegedly stabbed partner faces April trial

An Alliance woman who allegedly stabbed an intimate partner in July will be going to trial for attempted murder, according to Box Butte County District documents. 

29-year-old Rebecca Ashing is accused of using a knife to stab her then partner Cody Dauel on the evening of July 13, 2023 on Potash Ave in Alliance. Dauel was transported to Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, where he was deemed to be in stable condition.

Ashing faces one count of Attempted First Degree Murder, a Class II Felony. Other charges include Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony, a Class IIA Felony, and Domestic Assault in the 2nd degree, a Class IIA Felony.

Her trial is slated for April 15th – 17th with her pretrial conference scheduled for March 13th.
