The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, which is the conference governing body that includes Chadron State athletics, has delayed a decision on whether or not to alter fall sports schedules, which include football and volleyball.

So, as of today Chadron State is still scheduled to open the football season on September 5 against Western Colorado at Don Beebe Stadium.

As the RMAC stated in its update Thursday late afternoon the Presidents' Council will meet again at a yet-undetermined date to make any additional decisions on the fall schedules or to leave them unchanged.

The conference stated on June 30 that it would make its final decision by Friday, July 17.  However, with new COVID-19 information and a delay in getting the NCAA Resocialization of Collegiate Sports guidelines the conference is taking more time to determine if fall sports need to be pushed back or postponed.

We will have more on this developing story Friday.
