Anthony Dario Longoria, age 60, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday, May 3, 2024, at his home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska with Fr. Joseph Thambi officiating. The United States Navy and the Gering American Legion Post 36 Honor Guard will provide military honors. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 6:45 p.m., on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff. Anthony was born October 25, 1963, in Scottsbluff to John and Rachel (Quevedo) Longoria. He graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1982. Anthony immediately entered the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on December 14, 1986.
Anthony married Mary Perez and together they welcomed two children, Tasha and Zachary. The couple divorced after 34 years of marriage but remained close friends and companions.
Anthony worked for McDonnell Douglass Aviation from 1987 until 1992. He began working for Burlington Northern Railroad as a conductor in 1994 and stayed with the railroad for eighteen years, leaving in 2012.
He had an appreciation for classic cars and Harley Davidson bad bikes. Anthony enjoyed listening to alternative and rock ‘n roll music, especially while jamming out in his garage wrenching on his projects. He will be forever missed and remembered as one BMF. “You better duck when I show up, it’s Uncle Buck”.
Survivors include the love of his life, Mary Longoria “Olive Juice”; children, Tasha (Reuben Garza) Longoria; Zachary (Emily Cortez) Longoria; grandchildren, Anthony and Khloe Weinmaster, Lazarus Rodriguez, Kaylani Garza, Cameron Cortez, and Emma, Zachary, and Miles Longoria; brothers, Cruz (Terri) Longoria and Michael Longoria; sisters, Monica Longoria, Mary Ann (Anthony) Quijas; mother-in-law, Gloria Jean Perez; along with multiple nieces and nephews.
