North Platte, Neb. — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested two people after finding ten pounds of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80.
Saturday, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a trooper saw a Kia Telluride failing to maintain its lane while traveling eastbound on I-80 near Brady, at mile marker 197. The trooper performed a traffic stop.
During the traffic stop, an NSP K9 detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed several packages of suspected cocaine located inside a suitcase. The total weight of the cocaine was ten pounds.
The driver, Chevonne Martin, 48, of Illinois, and passenger, Julius Sutton, 42, of Indiana, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver. Both were lodged in Lincoln County Jail.
