The United Way awarded $1,000 to the Chadron Backpack Program/Chadron Kiwanis to ensure that local kids have food for the weekend. They also donated $500 to Closer to Home and $250 to the Crawford Food Pantry.

"It is great to be able to give to the community and directly help those that are experiencing food insecurity," United Way Director Karen Benzel said. "By giving money directly to the Chadron Backpack Program, Closer to Home and Crawford Food Pantry we can help ensure kids don't go hungry on the weekend."
