William A. Aspden (1937 - 2022)

William A. Aspden, 85, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance, NE. He was born June 23, 1937 in Scottsbluff, NE to Warren and Velma (Donovan) Aspden. From 1962 to 1965 he served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany.

On March 28, 1970 he was united in marriage to Pamela Sue Koepke in State Center, Iowa. Bill

was employed by Safeway where he worked in management from 1968 until his retirement in

1998.

In 1984 they purchased an acreage near Berthoud, CO. where he raised cattle, sheep and chickens. In 2014 they moved to Longmont, CO. and in 2019 they moved to Alliance, NE. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Alliance.

In their retirement they enjoyed several cruises and through the years traveled to most of the states. They were fans of the PBR and attended the finals in Las Vegas many times.

He is survived by his wife, Pam, his daughter, Lori Pinley of Longmont, CO, his grandchildren,  Crystal (Kenny) Amador of Sterling, CO and A.J. Pinley and his children, Atticus and William Pinley of Grand Island, NE. He is also survived by his sisters and brother, Gladys (Gordon) Dughman of Sterling, CO, Michael (Mary) Aspden of Alliance and Joan (Jerry) Reeves of Seward, NE and sister-in-law, Lois Aspden of Thornton, CO. and numerous  nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Gene, Jack and Bing and his in-laws, Wally and Rocel Koepke.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, December 13 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's United Lutheran Church. The Rev. Cheryl Harris will officiate. Interment will be in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery. The service will be live streamed at https:alliancest.johns.org and will be available on the St. Johns Church website soon after the funeral.
