CHADRON – Patricia Park, an Assistant Professor in American’s University Masters of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing, will give a public reading April 14 at 6 p.m. at the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center.
The reading, which is free and open to the public, is part of Chadron State College’s Distinguished Writer Series sponsored by the English and Humanities program.
Park is the author of Re Jane, a modern-day retelling of Jane Eyre, as well as a forthcoming young adult novel, Imposter Syndrome and Other Confessions of Alejandra Kim. Park, a former Fulbright scholar, Edith Wharton Writer-in-Residence, and Jerome Hill Artist Fellow, has written for the New York Times, the New Yorker, and the Guardian.
Park is the ninth writer to read for the Distinguished Writer series since 2016. Previous writers include Kent Meyers, Karen Gettert Shoemaker, Frank X Walker, Markus Jones, Brad Aaron Modlin, Ken Ilgunas, Sarah Green, and Jonathan Rovner.
