Pauline 'Polly' Hays Hinman (1931 - 2022)

Pauline 'Polly' C. Hays Hinman passed away Monday, May 16, 2022 with family present in Valley Springs, California.

Polly was born February 17, 1931 in Cambridge, Nebraska to Fred and Edith Fisher where the family farmed until 1938.  In 1938, the Fisher family moved to Torrington, Wyoming and later to Scottsbluff, Nebraska.  In 1950, shortly after graduating from Scottsbluff High School, Polly married John W. Hays and moved to Gering, Nebraska.

Polly was employed by Production Credit after graduation from high school and later by the Green Stamp store and United Buckingham Truck Lines in Scottsbluff. In 1965, Polly began her career with Scotts Bluff County; first working for ten years in the County Assessor’s office and later as clerk and Deputy Register of Deeds. Upon “retirement” Polly continued to work part time in the Register of Deeds Office.

Polly was a member of the Scottsbluff Does Drove #21 and served two times as President.

In 2012, after the passing of her husband, John Hays, Polly married Herbert Hinman.

Survivors include her two children, daughter Devon Curry (Gene) of Valley Springs California and son Randy Hays (Elaine) of Hudson Texas; 3 step children Linda Hinman, Doug Hinman, and Pat Hinman. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Valerie Mitchell (Brian), Stuart Hays (Katie), Melissa Smith (A.J.), Jesse Michael (Melissa); great grandchildren Thomas Anderson, Vaughn Mitchell, Willow Mitchell and Jace Michael.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and husbands John Hays and Herbert Hinman.
