The DEA National Takeback Day will be on Saturday in Box Butte County, as residents are encouraged to turn in their unneeded medication for safe disposal.

In Box Butte County the collection site is at the Regional Law Enforcement Center in Alliance at 512 Niobrara Ave from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.

Box Butte County Sherrif J.D Sutphen comments on the importance of this event.

"We're just getting a lot of this medication off of the street, out of people's homes and to give the opportunity to dispose of it properly," Sutphen said.&nbsp;
