CHADRON, Neb.  —  Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol have conducted tobacco and alcohol compliance checks in Dawes and Sheridan Counties.

On Saturday, April 18, investigators conducted tobacco and alcohol compliance checks at several businesses in Dawes and Sheridan Counties.

In total, seven businesses were checked for alcohol compliance, and six businesses were checked for tobacco compliance. None of the businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a compliance rate of 100 percent. One business sold tobacco to a minor for a compliance rate of 92 percent.

The businesses included convenience stores, grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores and bars. This project is funded by both Synar tobacco Grant # 9502 checks and Panhandle Public Health Grant # 1848.

Alcohol-serving businesses and employees have access to training resources through the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission.
