Gering, Neb. — Weather permitting, work will begin Aug. 3 on Interstate 80 (I-80), at exits 38, 76, 85, and 101, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Watts Electric Company, of Waverly, is the contractor for this project. Work includes removal of the high mast towers and installing new towers and lights. Traffic will be maintained by intermittent lane closures maintained by signs, arrow boards, and cones. Anticipated completion is Oct. 12, 2026.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
