LINCOLN, Neb. — On Saturday, March 28, Husker fans will be making their return to Memorial Stadium for the Husker football spring game. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m., and the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is encouraging fans to plan ahead for heavy traffic both to and from the game.
When Coming to the Game:
-Drivers arriving in Lincoln on I-80 from the west should take Exit 397 (south U.S. Highway 77 (US-77)) to Rosa Parks Way into downtown Lincoln.
-Drivers arriving in Lincoln on I-80 from the east should take Exit 401 to south Interstate 180 (I-180) into downtown Lincoln.
-Plan ahead for construction on Interstate 80 (I-80), west of Lincoln from the Pleasant Dale exit (Exit 388) to Exit 399. Two lanes in each direction will be open but expect congested traffic and delays.

When Leaving the Game
-Drivers should avoid Exit 409 between Lincoln and Waverly as it may be closed due to safety concerns as I-80 traffic builds. This may significantly increase traffic on U.S. Highway 6. Leaving downtown Lincoln immediately after the game can put you in heavy traffic. Spending extra time in Lincoln immediately following the game will allow traffic to ease and help ensure a smoother ride home.

NDOT also encourages drivers to use caution when driving in areas with heavy pedestrian traffic. Pedestrians should always use sidewalks and crosswalks and stay alert. Drivers should always stop for pedestrians in crosswalks, follow speed limits, and never pass vehicles stopped at crosswalks.
For fans that plan on drinking, plan ahead by designating a sober driver or find a sober ride. Remember to buckle up before you leave and put the phone down. Before leaving to enjoy the game, set your route in the Nebraska 511 app with your destination and place it on Tell Me for traffic updates.
