HEMINGFORD, Neb. — The best in Box Butte County 4-H livestock and animal projects were recognized during this year's Box Butte County Fair as exhibitors competed in sheep, swine, dairy cattle, meat goats, horses, dairy goats and rabbits.
Throughout the competition, exhibitors demonstrated their knowledge, showmanship and dedication while earning champion honors across numerous divisions.
Among the top winners in the sheep show, Brextyn Bolek was named Champion Junior Sheep Showman and exhibited the Champion Market Lamb, while Aspen Staudenmaier earned Champion Intermediate Sheep Showman. Ainslee Woltman was named Champion Senior Sheep Showman and Overall Sheep Showman.
In the swine show, Terryn Heupel claimed Champion Junior Swine Showman, Quinn Robertson earned Champion Intermediate Swine Showman, and Anthony Haas was named Champion Senior and Overall Swine Showman. Carson Haas exhibited the Champion Market Gilt and Overall Market Swine, while Rozlyn Wills earned Champion Market Barrow.
Autumn Hartman, Kinsley Furman and Zaine Feist earned championship honors in junior, intermediate and senior dairy cattle showmanship, respectively, while Braden Staudenmaier exhibited the Champion Dairy Cow.
The meat goat show recognized Bryndle Votruba as Champion Junior Showman, Olivia Harwood as Champion Intermediate Showman, and Ashley Carr as Champion Senior and Overall Meat Goat Showman.
Horse exhibitors also enjoyed a successful week of competition. Bryndle Votruba, Gracia Votruba, Joeie Kresl, Reagan Walkinshaw, Dallas Woltman, Ethan Robbins and Ainslee Woltman earned championships across numerous classes, including showmanship, horsemanship, western pleasure, reining, ranch riding, barrel racing, pole bending, trail and working ranch horse events.
In the dairy goat show, Eli Bryner, Ashley Carr and Emily Johnston captured top honors. Johnston exhibited the Champion Dairy Goat, while Carr earned Champion Senior Dairy Goat Showman.
Rabbit exhibitors rounded out the competition with Mara Foster, Corley Connor and Katrina Karell earning champion showmanship honors in their respective age divisions. Wren Weare exhibited the Best of Show Rabbit, while Jessi Latka earned Reserve Champion Best of Show Rabbit.
The Box Butte County Fair continues with additional events and activities throughout the weekend.
