An Alliance man will serve up to 40 years for a stabbing death.
On June 21, 67 year-old George W. Smith of Alliance was ordered to serve 30-40 years at the Nebraska Department of Corrections.
Smith was convicted of Manslaughter and Use of A Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony in the death of Steven Oliver of Alliance.
The stabbing death occurred on June 19, 2020 at 1020 Toluca Avenue in Alliance.
A jury trial was held May 3-6 in Box Butte County District Court.
