We have received multiple reports today at least one confirmed loss of thousands of dollars in the “jury duty scam.”&nbsp; Some callers were on the verge of losing many thousands of dollars when they called our office.

Scammers call people, claiming to be employees of Sheriff’s Office.&nbsp; Victim caller ID shows the accurate phone number of the Sheriff’s Office. &nbsp;This is a “Spoof” call. &nbsp;The suspects can decide what number shows up in your caller ID.&nbsp;

The caller claims that the victim missed jury duty, and they will be arrested unless they pay a fine immediately by depositing money into bitcoin machine.

No law enforcement agency will ever call someone and ask them to make a deposit in a bitcoin machine or purchase cash cards.&nbsp;
