Gerald Panwitz, 89, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on March 15, 2024 in Kerrville. He was born in Alliance, Nebraska to Chris and Edna Panwitz on March 24, 1934. He married Margie Vahrenkamp on August 5, 1956 in Chadron, Nebraska.
He graduated high school in Alliance, Nebraska. He attended the University of Wyoming. He was a veteran serving in the Army. He then farmed and ranched in Alliance, Nebraska until 1984. Following this, he and Margie moved to the San Jose, California area where they managed mobile home communities for 10 years. Following this, they came back to Alliance to retire, travel and remodel the family home. He was active in his home churches, both in California and Alliance for several years.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Bruce; and sister, Luella.
Survivors include his wife; children, Becki, Beth and Chris; his sister, Connie (Jerry) Underwood; and special friends, Bill Sirvatka and Paula Henry.
Burial will be in the Alliance, Nebraska cemetery at a later date this summer.
Memorials may be given to Peterson Hospice or Hosanna Lutheran Church in Kerrville, Texas. Memorials may also be sent to Wounded Warrior Project.
