Robert Edward Schroth, 70, of Strasburg, Colorado, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado.
He was born July 19, 1951 in Denver, CO to Walter and Evelyn (Eads) Schroth.
Bob graduated from Bennet High School in 1969 where he ran track and loved playing football. After graduating Bob stayed in the area and worked with his family at Schroth Construction building homes and doing backhoe work.
He married Debra Sue Schultz on August 12, 1972. After their marriage he started work in the oil field and eventually retired from British Petroleum where he had worked maintenance at a gas processing plant.
In his free time Bob liked to fly fish and get to the mountains, Gould, CO was his favorite destination. Bob was an avid trap shooter, shooting on a trap league and in ATA shoots for over 30 years. Bob also loved to shear sheep and was active doing shearing demonstrations at museums and National Western Stock Show and shearing sheep on farms all over Eastern Colorado.
Those that knew Bob will recall he was never in a hurry; slow and steady was always his way. Bob was never too busy to talk, was slow to anger and always sincere. Bob never worried about anything and was extremely patient in every situation. He will be greatly missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Debra, his son, David (Liz) Schroth of Ellsworth, NE and his daughter, Sara (John) Gipson of Gillette, WY and his grandchildren, Bodie, Cash and Mace Schultz and Quinton, Landon, Cora and Everly Schroth. He is also survived his sister, Sharon Boyd of Strasburg, CO.
His parents and his brother, Bill preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Alliance Cemetery in Alliance, NE. A reception will be at the Eagles Club following the service. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 7 at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.
