David L Wilson, 87 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Regional West Medical Center.
A private family graveside service will be held at West Lawn Cemetery. At his request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. David was born on January 30, 1937 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Earl and Vera (Miller) Wilson. He was an accomplished track athlete in high school. He graduated from Norfolk High School in 1955. In 1960, David graduated from South Dakota State.
He was employed with Hormel Packing Company of Austin, MN as a cattle buyer, also spending time in Fremont, NE and in Scottsbluff, NE. In 1974, he started his own business Wilson Order Buyers, later Wilson King Commodities in 1981 to 2002.
He married Mary Ann Fisher in 1958. Later he married Darlene (Sishc) Huckfeldt in 1970.
David loved spending time fishing and hunting. He loved telling stories to his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his children Steve (Lori) Wilson of Cheyenne, WY, Shari (Jay) Huber of Eaton, CO, Cindy (Tim) Stirrett of Casper, WY, Pam Behnke of Clearwater, FL, John (Kammie) Wilson of Scottsbluff and Joe (Jami) Wilson of Scottsbluff; grandchildren: Michael Stirrett, Nicole Curran, Nick Curran, Eric Wilson, Blake Wilson and Addison Wilson; 5 great grandchildren; sisters Joy Osterberg of Lincoln, NE and Pat Nelson of Surprise, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
