Barbara A. Plummer (1943 - 2020)

Barbara A. Plummer, age 77, went to be with the Lord Jesus on December 26, 2020 surrounded by her family. Barbara was born May 24, 1943 to Harold and Iva Sharp in Troy, KS. She graduated from Troy High School in 1961.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney, NE with Pastor Rick Sharp officiating. Burial will be Monday, January 4th in the Greenwood Cemetery.
There will be a joint visitation for Barbara and Melvin Thursday, December 31st from 1:00-6:00 PM, family will be present 4:00-:006 PM. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday to sign Barbara’s register book and leave condolences for the family. Family will be present from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Barbara met Melvin Plummer and they were married May 8, 1965. Barbara and her husband Melvin moved to Sidney, NE in 1985 where she started her cleaning business and was also the homemaker for her family. Barbara cleaned for several Sidney businesses and many, many residents in her community until she “almost” retired. She was beloved by all those she served as well as those in the community.


She loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart and she loved sharing with all she came in contact with. Barbara’s husband proceeded her in death by only three days. They now enjoy God’s Kingdom together.


Barbara is survived by two sons, Dean Plummer of Sidney, NE, Clayton (Amanda) Plummer of Sidney, NE. Other survivors include: two grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Plummer of Sidney, NE; sister Erma Snodgrass of Stewartsville, MO; brothers Dale (Betty) Sharp of Troy, KS and Leonard (Ruth) Sharp of Wathena, KS; sister Margaret Tanner of St. Joseph, MO. Various nieces, nephews and cousins.


She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, parents and her sister June Sharp.
