Firefighters continued to make progress today, with containment increasing to 55%. Current acreage is 38,913 acres.

Along the northwestern portion of the fire in Division Delta, hand crews worked directly along the ridge and monitored while the "donut hole" filled in naturally. A UAS module flew the area to verify conditions and confirm the area is now secured.

Across the remainder of the northern fire perimeter in Division Zulu, crews continued mopping up, patrolling, and strengthening containment lines.

Along the southeastern portion of the fire in Division Alpha, firefighters remain focused on pockets of heat south of Highway 20 in the cottonwood trees. Please do not stop along Highway 20, as firefighters and equipment continue to work in the area.

The areas around Fort Robinson and Crawford continue to look very good, with crews patrolling and addressing any remaining hotspots.

While the threat from active fire behavior has diminished significantly, night operations will continue tonight to take advantage of favorable conditions and continue securing the fire.

A reminder that increased containment does not mean resources are leaving. Firefighters will continue patrolling, mopping up, and strengthening containment lines to ensure they hold as work progresses toward full containment.
