LINCOLN, Neb. – Governor Jim Pillen encourages Nebraska businesses to apply for the 2026 Governor’s Wellness Award.

“Investing in wellness strengthens both individuals and workplaces because healthy workplaces build healthy communities. Employees are an organization’s greatest asset. When employees feel their best, they are more engaged, resilient and productive,” said Gov. Pillen. “Each year, we are proud to celebrate Nebraska organizations that make health a priority and support their teams in living healthier lives. I encourage businesses across the state to apply and be recognized for their commitment to a stronger and healthier Nebraska.”

The 2026 application is designed to accommodate employers of all sizes in Nebraska and encourages them to start or enhance their workplace health, safety and well-being programs. These initiatives include assessing employees’ health risks and interests, developing a written wellness plan with measurable goals and objectives, implementing supportive policies and demonstrating measurable benefits from wellness and safety efforts.

Organizations receive the award at the Sower, Grower, or Harvester level.

-Sower level recognizes employers that have taken initial steps to encourage workplace wellness.

-Grower level honors organizations that have enhanced their wellness programs and are positively changing employee health behaviors.

-Harvester level is available to employers who are reaping the benefits of an advanced wellness program and can demonstrate high-quality outcomes.
