The woman who allegedly held her child hostage in Alliance on Thursday evening made her first court appearance in Box Butte County Court on Tuesday morning.

34-year-old Yadira L. Garza of Alliance was charged Tuesday with Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony, a Class 1C Felony, Terroristic threats, a Class 1C felony, and Obstruction of Government Operations, a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Garza elected to hire her own counsel to represent her, she is scheduled to make her appearance in Box Butte County Court on Nov. 28 at the Box Butte County Courthouse in Alliance at 9:30 a.m.
