One person was transported to multiple hospitals after a single-vehicle accident in Box Butte County.

On Dec. 8 at approximately 3:3o a.m. a person driving a newer Ford F-150 truck was involved in a single-vehicle accident that caught fire near the Berea turn-off on Highway 2.

The driver of the vehicle was pulled out of the burning truck by a person traveling by.

The driver was then transported to Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance and later to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.

"It's still under investigation at this point," said Ryan Dannar, Box Butte County Deputy. "My goal or my hope after I do conclude my investigation, I'm planning on doing a certificate of some life saving award of some kind for this good samaritan. The guy definitely saved a life."

No further information was released by the Box Butte County Sheriff's Office at this time.

This accident remains under investigation.
