Doneta was born June 11, 1948, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Harry and Glenda (Rollens) Lacy.

Doneta received her early education at Scottsbluff Public Schools. She had a strong work ethic holding various jobs here in the panhandle. Some of those jobs would include being a waitress at Mr. A’s and the Gaslight Restaurant. She worked at Ideal Cleaners for many years as a Route driver, manager, and leather specialist. She later moved to California where she was the office manager at American Fence. Then Doneta moved back to the panhandle where she found her nursing career. At the age of 50, Doneta went back to school to obtain her Nursing Degree. As an LPN, she worked at Regional West Medical Center, the Mitchell Clinic, Emerald Court and CAPWN as a reproductive specialist. Doneta was a devoted care provider giving attentive, compassionate care to others throughout her life.

Upon retirement, Doneta moved to Arizona to spend her golden years in the warm Arizona sun where she enjoyed spending time in her Senior Neighborhood Community. She continued to provide that same compassionate care towards her neighbors and friends within her community. Her gypsy spirit brought her back to Nebraska in December of 2021 where she spent and cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would do anything her great grandchildren would ask her to do including magical rainbow princess parades, frog hunting, and babysitting dolls.

Survivors include her husband, Nick Paz; children, Shannon (Candis) Bindschadler, Nichelle (Hallie) Paz; grandchildren, Brandon (Reanna) Ferreyra, Dillon Bindschadler, Breanna (Dominic) Havranek and step grandchildren Nichelle Dewald and Hope Miller.
