LINCOLN, Neb. - On Friday, Aug. 22, Governor Jim Pillen will join Director Rhonda Lamb for the opening of the new DMV Service Center in Grand Island. The center is another example of a business model that the Department of Motor Vehicles is now implementing to provide services in an expedited and more efficient way.

The center had a soft opening on Wed., Aug. 20, but on Friday, the ribbon cutting and official opening will take place.

The DMV’s new service model was first unveiled in Bellevue in April 2018. Since that time, service centers have opened in north Omaha, west Omaha and Lincoln.  The opening of the Grand Island Service Center now expands that successful business model from metro areas to other parts of the state.

This event is open to credentialed media.
