Alliance, NE – Due to the heavy stress experienced by City wells and with high temperatures forecasted in the coming days, the City of Alliance is asking residents to voluntarily conserve water whenever possible to help reduce demand on the community’s water system.
As part of this conservation effort, residents are encouraged to follow an odd/even outdoor watering schedule. Properties with even-numbered addresses should water on even-numbered calendar days, and properties with odd-numbered addresses should water on odd-numbered calendar days.
The City also recommends watering during the cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or later evening, to reduce evaporation and make the most efficient use of water. Residents are asked to avoid unnecessary outdoor water use, including excessive lawn watering, washing down driveways or sidewalks, and other non-essential uses during the heat event.
“We appreciate the cooperation of our residents as we work together to manage water demand during this period of high temperatures,” said the City of Alliance Public Works Department.
“Small changes in daily water use can make a meaningful difference for the entire community.”
The City will continue to monitor water demand and weather conditions and will provide additional updates if needed. Residents are encouraged to check the City’s official communication channels for the latest information.
