The City of Alliance held their City Council meeting, and one of the items on the agenda was the consent calendar and a letter of support for the creative district. Alliance City Manager explains what the creative district is.
"The Creative District is something the state created in the past couple of years, and it is meant to encourage the arts and beautification of communities," Sorenson said. "The Carnegie Art Center has been undertaking this challenge; the application is a very thick one and they have been working very diligently."
The Carnegie Art Center has been holding public meetings and Sorensen thanks them for their hard work says that the City of Alliance is happy to support them in their efforts.
Sorenson says it is also exciting that with the support of the creative district, it opens up the possibility for funding from the state of Nebraska for a wide array of projects and programs in Alliance.
