The Alliance Volunteer Fire Department was called to a fire at New Alliance Bean and Grain early Thursday morning on the west side of Alliance along Highway 385.
The Alliance Fire Department responded with several tanker trucks and a ladder truck.
Alliance Assistant Fire Chief Brad Schrum said the fire crews were called out around 7 a.m.
"The fire started up on a distributor on top of a couple bins here...five and six distributor...and that spread both ways down the conveyor belt and got into the underground conveyor belt," Schrum said. "All the fires been contained now. We're just touching up on hotspots and checking for any extension into the grain bins."
Twelve fire fighters from Alliance and up to four fire fighters from Hemingford have been assisting with this fire.
Schrum said the cause of fire has not yet been determined.
"They're gonna have to go up and take a look," Schrum said. "So, we don't know. We're off the Highway [385] and pretty well back where we are safe back here. We're not a hazard to the public in any way right now."
AVFD and HVFD were able to contain the fire a little before 8 a.m.
