Work Will Begin on US-30, from Chappell in Deuel County to US-138 West in Keith County

(Gering, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin May 20 on US-30, from reference post 87.36 to reference post 108.00, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Paulsen, Inc. of Cozad is the contractor for this project. Work includes bridge work, new culvert installations, asphalt milling and overlay, earth shoulder construction and permanent pavement marking.

Traffic will be maintained lane restrictions, a pilot car and flaggers, and temporary traffic signals. Follow the marked route. N-27 will remain open from I-80 to Oshkosh. US-30 will be closed to thru traffic from Chappell to N-27 North, and from N-27 South to US-138 West. An 11-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2024.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
