Richard Neil Reinmuth, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9th, 2021, surrounded by his children.
He was born on April 2nd, 1945 to Clarence and Fern (Happel) Reinmuth. He was their only son and middle of three children. Rich was a kind and generous man who looked upon no one as a stranger; his mantra "Family is always first". He always enjoyed a lively conversation or debate, and always had a twinkle in his eye when imparting words of wisdom. He was a fighter and beat stage-four cancer twice in his later years. Rich was proud to serve in the military, loved to race cars, never missed a moment to sit on the floor playing with his grand and great-grandchildren, and collect toys since his youth. He owned, operated, and "wrenched" on trucks for over 50 years, and was known as the guy who could fix about anything.
He had countless friends and hobbies he enjoyed, such as woodworking, being a historian, helping friends and family with projects, and later, riding motorcycles. He would drop anything for the ones he loved, and what he loved the most was time with his family.
When he wasn't working, you would find him offering any help he could to his family, and would most often leave his own work undone to complete others. He was stubborn, courageous, sarcastic, completely independent, loved his family more than himself, and felt a deep pride in his family. He will forever be loved and missed.
Rich is survived by his daughter, Lori (Mel) Widener and children, Ashley (Carson) Sisk, Shelby (Josh) Widener, Melany (Zach) Boltjes, Joseph (Amelia) Widener and Faith Widener; Great grandchildren, Tristan, Gemma, Taryn, Iris and Graham; Daughter, Wendy (Tony) Fritzler and children, Rhegan Fritzler and Creighton Fritzler; Son, Justin Reinmuth and children, Aspen Reinmuth, Ashlyn Reinmuth and Deklin Reinmuth; Son, Levi (Michelle) Reinmuth and children, Kaiden Reinmuth, Natalia Reinmuth and Raiya Reinmuth. His sisters, Sally (Larry) Hansen and Arlene (Wayne) Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Grace Widener and brother, Jack Reinmuth.
There will be a service to celebrate his life on at the Robidoux RV Park Shelter, 585 Red Rocks Rd., Gering, NE, Friday, January 22nd. Family service will be held from 11:00-12:00, and friends are welcome from 12:00-2:00 for a light lunch and sharing of memories.
