NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte man has been arrested on felony allegations after police said they found him hiding in a stranger's garage.

On Tuesday at around 1:50 a.m. a resident in the 500 block of East 12th St. contacted police and reported that an unknown male was in their garage.

Police said officers made contact with the reporting party who said they had let their dog out and observed an unknown male enter their garage. Police said the resident believed the man was still in the garage.

Officers made entry into the garage and located Tyler Keup, 38, who the resident said did not have permission to be on the property.

Police said Keup was taken into custody and a search of Keup's person revealed a knife, a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Keup is a convicted felon and is prohibited by law from carrying a knife.

Police said Keup was arrested on suspicion of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, 2nd-degree trespassing, and possession of methamphetamine. He was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
