Shirley Jane Liakos, 91, formerly of Bayard, Nebraska, died Thursday, May 19, 2022, at her home in Columbus. Services will be held on Monday, June 6 at Faith United Church of Christ in Bayard, with Pastor Tom Smith officiating and inurnment will be at Bayard City Cemetery.
Shirley Liakos was born on November 9, 1930, in Mitchell, Nebraska, to George and Elizabeth (Johannes) Schneider. She graduated from Bayard High School in 1949. On April 26, 1953, Shirley was united in marriage to Constantine "Gus" Liakos. Shirley was a homemaker who dearly loved to spend time with her family.
Shirley is survived by: Son, Tom (Dayleen) Liakos of Pender, NE; Daughter, Connie Liakos of Portland, OR; Grandchildren: Kelli (Brad) Fagan of Fall City, WA, Sam Evers of Eugene, OR, Adam Evers of Albuquerque, NM, Misty Liakos of Omaha, NE, Tatiana Kohlmeyer of Scottsdale, AZ; and great grandchildren: Calvin Fagan & Leah Liakos.
Shirley was preceded in death by: Parents, George & Elizabeth Schneider; Husband, Constantine "Gus" Liakos; Son, Kelly Liakos; and grandson, Anthony Liakos.
