Rushville man arrested for assault with a knife in Chadron

A Rushville man was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon after allegedly assaulting a man with a knife in Chadron. Chadron police responded to a call of reports of a fight at the Royal Court Apartments located on the 300 block of Pinecrest Drive.

Upon arrival, Police Chief Rick Hickstein observed a man walking south on Cedar Buttes matching the description of the man the caller described and he was stopped and detained.

The man had blood on his clothing and hands while also having cuts on his hands as well.

A preliminary investigation was done at apartment complex and met with two other people involved in the fight and a witness. Witnesses say a fight started between Arnold and another male and during the fight, Arnold pulled a knife out. As a result of the fight, Aaron Arnold received cuts to his hands, but nobody was stabbed with the knife.

As a result of the investigation, 35-year-old Aaron Arnold was placed under arrest for Criminal Attempt Assault-Second Degree, A Class IIIA Felony and Terroristic Threats, A Class IV Felony.

The Chadron Police Department received assistance with this case by the Nebraska State Patrol and the Chadron Volunteer Fire Department.
