Jurene Green, 95, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance. She was born on June 11, 1930 at Angora, Nebraska to Lloyd and Opal (Chambers) Powell. She attended the Bridgeport, Nebraska schools graduating in 1950. She was a cheerleader and drum major in high school.  She was united in marriage to Maurice E. Green on August 2, 1950. From this union there was 4 children. They lived in Rapid City, South Dakota, Chadron, and settled in Alliance in 1953. She worked the majority of her working years at the Guardian State Bank.  After retirement she was the activities director at Good Samaritan Health Care Center and then helped Maury at Green’s Communications.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagles, the Box Butte General Hospital Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. 

She is survived by her children, Michael (Marsha) Green of Scottsbluff, Gwendolyn (Stephen) Schnell of Broomfield, CO and Bradley Green of Overton.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shelly (Michael) Sneddon, Stephen Craig (Shannon) Schnell, Tina (Bill) Sundstrom, Trista (Jeremy) Gaebel, Kelcee (Megan) Green, Nathan Green (Leslie Cannon), Corissa (Matthew) Hebb,  Christopher (Rachel) Green, Zach (Kylie) Harris and her 17 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, John (Bev) Powell of Montrose, CO and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maury, her daughter, Maurene Garner, her great-granddaughter, Kayla Marie Schnell, her brother, Lloyd Powell, Jr. and her sister, Darlene Worth.

Memorial services will be Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with interment in the Alliance Cemetery. There will be a gathering for cookies and fellowship at the Alliance United Methodist Church following the service and interment. Memorials may be given to Highland Park Care Center.
