A Gordon teenager was recently charged with first degree murder in the death of her newborn baby.
Court documents received by Panhandle Post from Sheridan County Court lists the teen as 16-year-old Chloe D Coplen Anderson and say that Anderson birthed a baby on the evening of Nov. 6th, police responded to a call of an infant being born and they found that the baby had stab wounds to the chest and a cut to the throat when they arrived.
Anderson faces a 1st-Degree Murder charge, a Class 1A Felony, and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. She is being charged as an adult.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 16.
