On Tuesday, April 18 at approximately 10:20 p.m. Chadron police were dispatched to investigate the unattended death of 35-year-old Samantha McCoy of Chadron.&nbsp;

McCoy was found to be unresponsive at her family home by family members who immediately called 911

After an investigation of the scene, evidence at the scene, and interviews of witnesses, the Dawes County Attorney/Coroner was contacted to review the initial findings and to assist in the investigation.&nbsp;

The coroner then ordered an autospy and toxicological screening.&nbsp;

"The preliminary findings indicate that foul play is not suspected at this juncture, though the investigation into the specific cause of death continues," Dawes County Attorney/Coroner Vance Haug said.&nbsp;
