On December 31, 2024 around 6:30 pm, deputies were advised of a pursuit entering Sheridan County from South Dakota. The occupants were reported to have firearms and narcotics.
Deputies caught up to and continued the pursuit down multiple county roads, attempting to "spike" the vehicle and end the pursuit safely. The driver continued to elude law enforcement, with the pursuit eventually ending up on Highway 20 outside of Rushville.
The pursuit continued through Hay Springs and into Box Butte County, where the vehicle ultimately was stopped.
One male driver was subsequently taken into custody on multiple felony charges. Two passengers were detained, interviewed, and ultimately released with minor unrelated charges.
