ALLIANCE, Neb. – At the Alliance March 3rd City Council meeting, a new Public Transit Rider Handbook was adopted, including a new $2 standard fare beginning April 1, 2026. These changes help keep services reliable and are better aligned with transit systems' fees from across the Nebraska Panhandle.

This increase is in part due to Federal transit funding reducing nationwide, making local funding updates necessary to support long term service sustainability of the Transit program. The City of Alliance continues to invest in safe vehicles and trained drivers as operating costs such as wages, fuel and insurance have increased in recent years.

To assist riders, the revised handbook includes a new discount BOGO program designed to keep frequent travel affordable.
