The Alliance Bulldogs came into their road showdown with undefeated Bayard on Tuesday night looking for a win to jump start their season, but the Tigers were able to hold on in five sets 3-2, (12-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 13-15)

The Bulldogs had another slow start that put them in a difficult position down two sets against one of the better teams in Western Nebraska, if not the state in Bayard.

Looking at the match, every set besides the first was extremely close, with the 2nd set being decided by three points while the next three sets were all decided by two.

I n a look at how the season has gone so far, Alliance had won five in a row in a tournament in Wyoming after starting the season with a loss at Gering, but the loss for Alliance drops the Bulldogs to 5-6 on the year and is their 5th straight loss.  Alliance will look to get on track in a match at Sidney on Thursday.
