GERING, Neb. — Weather permitting, work will begin Sept. 2 on Interstate 80 (I-80), at reference post 17.62, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

JMN Construction, LLC, of Valley, is the contractor for this project. Work includes heat straightening damaged girder. Traffic will be maintained with lane closures. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Sept. 16.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
