SIDNEY, Neb. — The Cheyenne County Community Center Foundation Board of Directors has selected Hunter Arterburn as the next Executive Director of the Cheyenne County Community Center in Sidney.
Arterburn will assume leadership of The Center on July 6, succeeding longtime Executive Director Mike Namuth, who announced his retirement earlier this year after more than 25 years of service.
As Executive Director, Arterburn will oversee the day-to-day operations of The Center while working alongside staff, members, community partners and the Board of Directors to continue strengthening programs, services and opportunities for residents throughout Cheyenne County and the surrounding area.
"We're very excited to welcome Hunter as our next Executive Director," Community Center Foundation Board Chairman Jason Petik said, "His energy, vision and ability to connect with people have made a positive impact throughout our community for many years. We believe those qualities will help lead The Center into an exciting future."
Arterburn has spent more than two decades serving the area through local media, community engagement, event development and public outreach. Throughout his career, he has focused on connecting people, supporting local organizations and helping communities grow.
"I'm incredibly honored by the trust the Board has placed in me," Arterburn said. "The Center plays an important role in the lives of individuals and families throughout Cheyenne County. I'm excited to work alongside the outstanding staff, members and Board as we continue serving our communities."
Arterburn said he is particularly excited about The Center's future and the opportunity to strengthen community partnerships, enhance programming and support long-term growth initiatives.
"The Center is much more than a facility," Arterburn said. It's a community hub where people connect, improve their health, build relationships and create lasting memories. I look forward to helping write the next chapter of that story."
The Board of Directors expressed appreciation for Arterburn's passion for community service and believes his experience in leadership, communication, marketing and public engagement positions him well to guide The Center into the future. Arterburn will continue his role in local broadcasting while assuming his new responsibilities at The Center.
