Parker Fisher, a senior at Chadron High School, has constructed the first bench for the Cowboy Trail Connection, the trail that is being developed to link downtown Chadron to the Cowboy Recreation and Nature Trail five miles east of town. With assistance from the Pine Ridge Job Corps, Fisher completed the concrete bench for his Eagle Scout project.
Joining Fisher for a photo are Scoutmaster Vince Ryan and Northwest Nebraska Trails Association board members George Ledbetter and Justin Haag. The sturdy, low-maintenance design is expected to serve trail users for many generations to come.
