On Aug. 4 at 5:12 p.m. the Scottsbluff Police Department was called to 401 South Beltline (West) to a shooting.
Officers found two males in the parking lot.
35-year-old Alexander J. Maldonado of Gering was taken into custody.
34-year-old Martin A. Maldonado Jr. of Scottsbluff suffered a single gun shot to his abdomen. He was transported by ambulance to Regional West Medical Center for treatment.
Maldonado was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony, Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm, Protection Order Violation, and Discharging a Firearm Within City Limits.
Maldonado was transported to the Scotts Bluff County Jail.
Scottsbluff Fire Department, Gering Police Department, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office, Mitchell Police Department, and Valley Ambulance assisted with this incident.
