RABUN COUNTY, Georgia — The Georgia State Patrol has arrested a Nebraska woman on suspicion of second-degree vehicular homicide following a wreck in Rabun County, Georgia.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, on GA 2.

According to the state patrol, Jennifer Rzonca of North Platte was driving a Ford Explorer eastbound on GA 2 when the vehicle ran off the road in a curve. The crash killed a passenger in the vehicle, identified as 40-year-old Douglas Rzonca, also of North Platte.

Jennifer Rzonca sustained minor injuries. EMS transported her to Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton for treatment.

A trooper with GSP Post 7 in Toccoa investigated the crash and says the 30-year-old Rzonca was “traveling too fast for the curve.” In addition to vehicular homicide, the trooper arrested her on suspicion of not exercising due care and failure to maintain lane.
