The Alliance Grandview Elementary 4th grade students visited Carnegie for their annual school tour.

The students visit every year while their artwork, under the direction of elementary art teacher, Sandi Blankenship, is on display.
Their artwork is a part of the Wonders annual exhibit until February 19. Over the course of three days, three 4th grade classes tour the upper gallery exhibit, pretending to be art judges. They review their favorite pieces, looking at art elements and detailing other specific items including creating their own drawings by choosing a favorite part of the piece. They learn about what it means to be an artist in the real world and what a professional exhibit is comprised of.

Youth instructor for Carnegie and renowned artist Robert Peltz goes through exercises with the class and gives them a personal artist experience.

As always, we want to thank the incredible local businesses that support arts opportunities like these for our community. Thank you to our February sponsors Seasons of Hope Counseling, Edward Jones-Dalsey Lambley Financial Advisor, and R & J Industries.
We also want to thank our generous grantors who provide operational funding, the Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska Cultural Endowment and Peter Kiewit Foundation. Last but certainly not least, we want to thank our grantors that make free and reduced cost art classes available through educational grant support. Thank you, DF Dillon Foundation, Snow Redfern Foundation, Mission Store, CA Story Foundation, Kimmel Foundation, and St. John’s Lutheran Church.
